Cars end up where the last customer left them, not where the next one wants them. The usual fix is a dead cost: you pay a driver to shuffle the car back. Repositioning flips that: it spots the imbalance and offers a discounted one-way hire to a customer already heading that way, so they move the car and pay you for the trip.

Repositioning sits on top of your existing fleet-move tooling. It doesn't replace it. It watches your forward bookings across depots and, when it finds a surplus car sitting somewhere quiet at the same time as unmet demand somewhere busy, it reaches for the cheapest mechanism that also earns money: a discounted one-way hire. Only if nobody books it inside the window does it fall back to a driver. Repositioning orchestrates; your transfers tooling executes.

How it works

Detect, offer, escalate. In that order

01 It spots the imbalance for you Across your look-ahead window, the engine watches for a surplus car at a quiet depot coinciding with unmet demand at a busy one. You set how big the gap has to be before it acts, and a fleet floor so it never strips a depot bare.

02 It offers the fix that earns Rather than dispatch a driver, it publishes a discounted one-way special on that exact route: the drop fee waived, optionally a little off the hire. A customer heading that way books it, and your car moves as a paid booking, not a cost line.

03 If no one books, it escalates The special holds an exclusive window. If it doesn't sell, the need steps up the ladder: a standby driver listing, then a conventional paid transfer. The expensive mechanism is the last resort, never the first.

04 It cleans up after itself The moment availability shifts or the need is met another way, the request closes on its own. Nothing double-moves, and a stale special never lingers in your widget offering a car you no longer have spare.

Nothing moves that you didn't allow

Off until you switch it on Repositioning is an opt-in module, owner-gated. An unconfigured business runs none of it: no detection, no offers, no alerts.

Watch before you act: shadow mode Turn on shadow mode and the engine detects and logs imbalances without surfacing a thing, so you can see what it would do before it does anything.

Manual, suggest, or automatic Choose whether the engine just flags an imbalance, drops a suggestion in a queue for you to approve, or publishes the one-way special on its own.

One switch stops everything A platform-wide kill-switch disables the engine instantly, for every business, without touching anyone's settings: the safety valve for a busy day gone sideways.
