The rental agreement is the contract a customer signs before they drive away. Its terms section is filled from one field you control. Until you set it, that field is a platform default, which means the signed agreement carries no use restrictions, liability terms, charge authority or privacy statement of yours. Glovebox shows a persistent red banner while that is the case, and this is how you clear it.
Before you start
Have your terms ready, either as a page on your own website or as text you can paste in. If you do not have terms written, this is worth getting right before you take real bookings — it is what protects you if something goes wrong on a hire.
Where to find it
In the left sidebar, open Settings, then Business details (under the Business heading).
Steps
- Find the rental agreement setting on the Business tab.
- Choose how you want to supply your terms:
- Link to an existing terms page (URL) — point at the terms page on your own website. Enter the address in Terms page URL.
- Paste terms as HTML — write or paste your terms directly, shown on your Glovebox rental-terms page. Use the editor that appears.
- Click Save.
What you should see when it worked
The red "Your rental agreement contains no terms" banner disappears. New agreements generated for bookings now carry your terms, and a customer signing sees them.
Things worth knowing
- Pasting terms in stores a version of them, so the agreement a customer signed is the version that was current at the time, even if you edit your terms later.
- The banner is deliberately persistent because a blank agreement is a real exposure on every booking, so it will keep showing until real terms are set.
If it did not work
- The banner is still showing after saving. Make sure you actually entered a URL (if you chose the link option) or some text (if you chose paste), not just switched the option. A blank field still counts as no terms.
